DESIGN THE POSTER FOR BEST OF THE BANDS 2008
Bandstrand is a network supporting young people involved in popular music-making in the York area. The network is made up of professional musicians, sound and lighting engineers, music retailers, promoters, publicists, writers, publishers, consultants, photographers, graphic artists, web designers, venue proprietors and music teachers. All kinds of popular music are supported - rock bands, singer/songwriters, acapella groups, DJs, folk bands etc...
We are also interested in hearing from young people who would like to be more involved with promotion, management, publicity, poster design, photography, review writing, sound engineering and lighting.
Bandstrand is involved in organising gigs, workshops and other events aimed at supporting young people in all aspects of the music business.
The Bandstrand website is packed with information on getting involved in music. There are links to local music resources and a growing “How To...” section, containing expert advice on different aspects of the music business.
