Previous Experience: Participants should have some instrumental/vocal experience and ideally bring material to work on
The workshop will begin with a short session on aspects of health & safety in a music environment followed by an introduction to the music industry. Information will be given on Access to Music’s training programmes which run from The Jam Factory during term time, as well as other musical opportunities in this area. The participants will then divide into 4 bands (2 electric and 2 acoustic) to rehearse and prepare to record participants own material. It is therefore desirable that some participants will bring existing material/ideas to work on. (We can do songwriting from scratch but this will reduce recording time). Once recorded, the bands will produce original artwork for their CD. We will provide one copy of the CD for each participant. You will need to bring your instrument.
